MyMirfield-Awards

The MyMirfield Business and Community Awards were launched in 2015 – with the first evening held on Friday 17th April at Sands Lane Golf Club, Mirfield. The event was to celebrate all things Mirfield, help raise the profile of businesses and organisations, increase interaction across the town, and to have a bit of fun. This has grown over the years and is an evening packed full of entertainment and fun, whilst raising funds for local good causes.

The 2020 black-tie event will be held on Saturday 28th March – opening at 6pm with a sparkling reception, followed by a four-course meal, a celebrations of many things Mirfield, the awards themselves, fundraising, and end of the evening live entertainment. The evening will close around 12.30am. For more infirmation about the evening, visit the ‘About The Evening’ page.

Public Nomination Process

The window for public nominations is open throughout January from Wednesday 1st until 5pm on Friday 24th. Anyone can nominate as many people as they wish across as many categories as they wish.

MyMirfield will be advertising for nominations via the website, Facebook, Twitter, in the Mirfield Word magazine, and local newspapers, however we encourage you to share this with family, friends and customers to ensure as many people as possible have their say.

Nominations can be made via the online Nomination Form or posted to MyMirfield Awards, Mirfield Business Centre, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 8AB.

Shortlisting Process

Once the nomination window closes on Friday 24th January, the finalists will be chosen ahead of the public voting which is held throughout March.

From all the nominations received, a panel of MyMirfield Awards members will generate a shortlist of finalists based on a mix of (1) quantity of nominations and (2) quality of reasons, and (3) community involvement.

The nominees will then be contacted during February, to gain permission for them to be confirmed as official finalists

Public Voting Process

Public voting will begin at 9am on Monday 24th February through to Friday 20th March. Votes can be cast via the online Voting Form or via the form that will be printed in the Mirfield Word Magazine and local newspapers (and returned to MyMirfield Awards, Mirfield Business Centre, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 8AB).

Please note that votes are limited to one entry per person per category. If voting via the form in the Mirfield Word or local newspaper – this must be on an original form and not a photocopy. Any multiple votes made by the same person will render all votes cast by the person void. Any unusual voting will also be removed and may result in the finalist being disqualified.
